Our Mission Statement

First in Service – At John Fayard Self Storage, our service and people set us apart from other storage businesses. The Fayard family has been in the moving and storage industry since 1907, which is how we’ve built such a great reputation for integrity over the years.

A Family-Owned Business

The Fayard name has been associated with moving, transportation, and storage on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for well over a century. The first Fayard business, OK Transfer & Storage, was founded in the early 1900s as a local moving and storage business.

In the 1960’s they became Fayard Moving & Transportation. John Fayard, Jr. started his own business, John Fayard Fast Freight in 1982. That business evolved into John Fayard Moving & Warehousing and includes John Fayard Self Storage.

John Fayard, Jr., grew up in the family business alongside his father, John Fayard, Sr., who sadly passed away in 2010. John Jr.’s wife and three sisters are part of the team. Additionally, a new generation of Fayard children, including his son Tripp (John III), daughter Tory, and other members of the third generation, are carrying on the family business, with a fourth generation that’s up and coming!

A lot of people ask what the difference is between our company and the other companies. There isn’t one thing that differentiates us. It’s a lot of the little things. It may be one to five percent here, three percent there, and a half percent over there that makes the difference. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, not by yards, but by inches, and some are hard-fought inches.
